We met while working for a moving concierge company. As we began working together, we realized that we not only worked well together, we both developed great admiration and respect for each other's talent, skill, and work ethic.
Alcova Home has been a dream come true for both of us. We strive to remove as much stress from your life as we can. We are so proud and excited to have the opportunity to work with you to create the home you always wanted.
Emily
Organizing has been an innate part of who I am since I was a toddler. I fell in love with all the parts of what makes a house a home, including the organization and tidiness. After graduating college, it was quite serendipitous how organizing fell into my life, a natural talent turned career. I quickly fell in love with working with people in their homes. Getting to know the clients, forming trusting and lasting relationships and of course making their space less stressful and putting a smile on their face.
Fun Facts
Where I grew up: Roxbury, CT
My Family: I was born in China and adopted at the age of one by my parents Bill and Deb, and older brother Andrew. My family is multicultural, My Dad’s family is Chinese and my mom’s is a European mix. My Dad has his own business and my mom was a teacher.
My favorite things to do: Dance, go for walks with friends, travel, and spend time with my niece and nephew.
My favorite organizing product: Drawer dividers. A simple addition that can create a really functional system.
What made you fall in love with organizing: Meeting new people, working with others and creating a space that they use and like.
Mayra
I was born in Guatemala and from an early age I have had a passion for interior design and home organization. Soon after arriving in my new country I became a nanny and continued to work as a nanny for many years, this gave me an insight into the busy lives of the American family. I learned through the many families who welcomed me into their home that while each family had different needs, and lifestyles one thing they shared in common was their desire to spend more time with their loved ones and less time stressing out about the upkeep of a home. Sadly more often than not, I saw a family overwhelmed by chaos, and disorganization, too many toys, clutter closets, pantries overstocked.

Where I grew up: I was born in Guatamala City, Guatamala and moved here when I was 15 years old.
When did you start Home Staging? 2016
What made you fall in love with this work? The design aspect of it. Seeing the reaction on clients faces when they see their home transform into something they never imagined. Seeing clients fall in love with their home again or being proud of the property they are putting on the market.
What is your favorite part about Home staging? Re-imagining a space, bringing out the best features of a space. Making it shine again.
